DANIEL KERSH

Daniel heads up the advocacy department. He was one of the first solicitors to obtain Higher Rights of Audience, and conducts a wide range of cases in the Crown Court. Daniel also appears regularly in the appellate courts, challenging both convictions and sentences. He has a niche practice in domestic violence cases and has represented many Defendants caught up in the August 2011 civil disturbances. Daniel is a ranked lawyer in Chambers and Partners Directory 2012 and advises others within the firm on all matters of law and trial preparation. Daniel also advises at police stations, bringing a wealth of experience from the trial to the police station, and vice versa. This dual front-line role at both the start and end of a case allows for a rare understanding of the interplay between decisions made in the police station and the court process.
"His style is clear concise and straight to the point" (Chambers Directory 2012)
His notable cases include:
- 2011 R v F; R v S; Secured two out of the very few non custodial sentences passed for Defendants caught up in the summer disturbances, including the widely publicised ‘laughing looter’.
